Mouvement De Menuet, 2015
Materials - Laser cut Japanese linen paper.
This neckpiece visualises the music of the 'Mouvement De Menuet', by the romantic composer Maurice Ravel.
The intricate patterns in this piece form a visual counterpoint to the original sequence of the musical score.
This is an important piece of music for Genevieve, as it was a piece that she learned to play for her grade 8 piano exam, and has continued to play it up to this day.

This piece resides in the permanent collection of the Dallas Museum of Art in Texas, and was exhibited in the museum in 2019 in an exhibition entitled 'Women & Design: New Works', alongside the work of 7 other established international female designers.
