'I have always been fascinated by the possibilities of visualising the unseen'

Genevieve Howard is a Dublin-based Irish artist whose multidisciplinary practice spans contemporary jewellery, visual art, and music. Renowned for her innovative fusion of visual art, jewellery, and music, Howard’s work pushes the boundaries of contemporary expression.

Her practice is deeply rooted in her background in music, exploring the relationship between sound and form. Drawing inspiration from the rhythms of nature and her Irish heritage, she transforms invisible sonic vibrations into tangible, wearable sculptures. Combining traditional handcraft with cutting-edge digital technologies, she works with a wide range of materials, from humble paper to reactive and precious metals, creating pieces that are both sculptural and sensory. Her performances on the Irish harp often accompany her exhibitions, enhancing the multisensory experience of her art.

A graduate of the National College of Art and Design with an honours degree in Metals & Jewellery (2015), she went on to study Jewellery Design, Gold and Silversmithing at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. In 2021, she earned a distinction in her MA in Fashion & Technology from the University of Art & Industrial Design in Linz, Austria. Howard’s work is part of notable public collections, including the Marzee Collection, CODA Museum in Apeldoorn, the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne and the Dallas Museum of Art in Texas.
